During Totality 2017 at Detroit Lake, Oregon, the smoky sky left very little ambient light. Once the moon fully blocked the sun the sky went pitch black about as fast as a light switch is flicked. I chose to shoot a multiple exposure image during totality to express what it was like at Detroit Lake and how it was unique compared to the many less smoke-filled images likely to be taken that day. Because of how dark it got during the eclipse I had to shoot totality and wait until after the sun started revealing itself from behind the moon to capture the smoke filled mountains.

It takes roughly 10 days for the print to be created and ready for shipment. Most places in the United States shipping takes no more than 4 days. If the photograph must cross an international border, customs can take as long as 3-4 weeks of additional time.
